Text color should establish separation from its immediate background. A bright color is not automatically readable, especially when the photograph contains similar tones.
Compare local contrast
Look directly behind each word. Yellow letters may stand out on a dark jacket but disappear over a bright lamp. Evaluate the whole label in its actual position rather than judging a color swatch on a blank canvas.
Add a non-color distinction
Use size, weight, spacing, or a supporting panel when necessary. If two labels represent different options, do not rely on color alone to explain which is which; give them clear names or positions.
Test a simpler view
Inspect a grayscale copy as a diagnostic for brightness separation, then return to color to assess the full design. Grayscale is not a complete accessibility test, but it can reveal similar lightness values. Check the final export on more than one ordinary screen before settling on the palette.
