Sign PDF Online
Draw, type or upload your signature. Place it on the page and save a signed copy, right in your browser.
Choose a PDF to sign
Drag and drop your document here.
No account, no upload. Your original file stays unchanged.
Select a PDF to begin.
Drag a signature to move it. Drag its corner to resize. Keyboard: arrow keys move; Shift + arrow moves farther; Delete removes.
This adds a visible signature, not a certificate-based digital signature. Review every signed page before sharing. Password-protected PDFs, XFA forms and already certificate-signed documents are not supported. Pages with form fields or visible annotations need a flattened copy before signing.
Your PDF and signatures are processed locally in your browser and are not uploaded to our servers. Nothing is saved automatically. Clear or close the page to release the current document.
How to sign a PDF online
- Choose your PDF or drop it into the upload area. The workspace opens with a real preview of the document.
- Navigate to the page you want to sign. Use the thumbnails, page number or Previous and Next controls.
- Select Add Signature, then draw, type your name or upload a PNG/JPG image.
- Move the signature to the right place. Resize it with the corner handle or the width slider.
- Add any other signatures, choose a file name and select Download Signed PDF.
Add a signature to PDF without printing
A signature often belongs on a specific line near the end of a document. ToolNivo lets you place it directly on that page, zoom in to check alignment and move it until it fits. You can add different signatures or reuse the last one on another page. Each placement has its own position and size.
The download contains your original PDF pages with signature images added on top. Existing text and vector content are not replaced by a screenshot. Page sizes and orientation are kept. The signature itself is an image, so avoid enlarging a low-resolution upload until it looks blurry.
Draw, type or upload your signature
Draw: use a mouse, touchscreen or stylus. The drawing area prevents page scrolling while you are signing. Clear the canvas if you want to start again, then choose an ink color.
Type: enter your name for a handwriting-style representation. Latin characters use the included signature font; other scripts use available device fonts. Check the preview before placing it.
Upload: use an existing PNG or JPG signature image. Transparent PNG pixels remain transparent in the final PDF. A JPG with a white background keeps that background; this tool does not automatically remove it.
Sign PDF free, on your phone or computer
There is no account requirement, paid API or per-signature fee. The editor offers page navigation, nearby page thumbnails, zoom controls and an accessible width slider alongside dragging. On a small screen, the document and controls stack vertically. Use the move buttons or keyboard arrows for small adjustments.
One document can contain up to 200 pages and be up to 40 MB. Large or complex PDFs may take longer or run out of memory on older devices. For a smaller document, use Split PDF first. To combine documents before signing, use Merge PDF. You can also prepare pages with Images to PDF or Text to PDF.
Privacy while signing
PDF rendering, signature creation and final PDF generation happen inside your browser. The selected document, signature images and typed name are not uploaded. The site serves the editor, libraries and font files; these downloads do not contain your document. This tool does not save signatures in browser storage or use advertising or analytics scripts.
The current work is kept only in page memory. Reloading, clearing or closing the page loses it. Download a copy before leaving. Your original file and any copies you already downloaded remain on your device.
What this PDF signer does not do
ToolNivo adds visible signature marks. It does not issue a digital certificate, verify a signer’s identity, request signatures from other people or create an audit trail. It is not a form-filling or text-editing service. Use the signing method required by the recipient. Already certificate-signed documents, encrypted PDFs and XFA forms are not supported. On a page containing form fields or visible annotations, use a flattened PDF copy first so those objects cannot cover the added signature.
Frequently asked questions
Can I sign a PDF for free without an account?
Yes. You can create and place visible signatures and download the new PDF without signing up.
Can I add signatures to more than one page?
Yes. Navigate to each page and add or reuse a signature. Every placement can be moved, resized or deleted separately.
Will zooming change the downloaded signature position?
No. The editor stores placement in page coordinates and converts screen movements back to those coordinates. Zoom changes the preview, not the saved placement.
Can I sign a scanned PDF?
Yes, if it is an otherwise supported PDF. Adding a signature overlay does not need OCR or selectable text. The scanned page stays an image; the tool does not recognize its text.
Is this a certificate-based digital signature?
No. The tool adds a visible image of a signature. It does not provide cryptographic identity verification or tamper-evident certification.
Why is my PDF not opening?
Check the file size and page limit. Corrupted, encrypted, XFA or already certificate-signed documents are not supported. If your device runs out of memory, try a smaller copy or another device.
