Use a transparent portrait on a slide while keeping the face readable and avoiding awkward cropping or distracting edges.

Choose a useful portrait

Prefer a photo with clear shoulders, a visible hair outline and an expression appropriate to the presentation. A source with the top of the head already cropped cannot become a complete portrait through background removal. Keep enough margin to position the person naturally on the slide.

Place the actual PNG

After inspecting the cutout, download the transparent version and insert that file into the slide. Do not use a screenshot of the tool's preview. Resize proportionally and compare the portrait with nearby text. The face should remain recognizable without overwhelming the slide's main information.

For a speaker introduction, align the portrait with the name and role. If several speakers appear together, use reasonably consistent apparent head sizes and spacing rather than stretching each image to identical widths. Different crops may require different placement.

Review against the slide background

A dark slide can reveal a pale fringe that was invisible in a white preview. Test the actual slide color and use a cleaner source or manual refinement if needed. Keep the original transparent asset in your project folder; the slide editor may compress images or export them differently. Check the final presentation or PDF at its intended viewing size so edge quality, portrait scale and text hierarchy still work together.
