Use ToolNivo's optional white outline to separate a cutout from a busy thumbnail while keeping the subject recognizable.
Start with an acceptable mask
An outline follows the cutout that already exists. If a hand or strap is missing, the outline traces the incorrect shape rather than restoring the detail. Review the unoutlined result first. Use a suitable source or manual repair for important defects before treating the outline as a design choice.
Compare thin and bold options
ToolNivo provides Off, Thin and Bold settings. Preview the subject against the color you expect in your composition. A thin line can separate a dark jacket from a dark scene. A bold line gives stronger separation but may fill small gaps visually or dominate delicate details. Check the result at thumbnail size; a line that looks tasteful in a large preview may disappear when reduced.
For example, a presenter in front of a busy workshop image can benefit from a clear border. A close product photograph against a plain background may not need one at all. Use the outline because it improves recognition, not as an automatic finishing step.
Allow room around the subject
The outline cannot extend beyond the exported canvas. If the subject touches the edge, part of the border may be clipped. Prepare a source with more margin when necessary. The outline becomes part of the downloaded PNG; keep a separate unoutlined version if you may want to change its style later in another editor.
