Open Image Compressor

Use local browser image compression on a phone, understand file limits and save a smaller copy without sending the selected photo to a conversion server.

Select a compatible image

Open Image Compressor and choose a JPG, PNG, WebP or BMP image from your phone. If your camera stores HEIC files, export a compatible copy before selecting it. Renaming an unsupported file extension does not change the actual image format.

The tool accepts files up to 15 MB and 24 megapixels. For compression, each side must fit within 8,000 pixels; use Image Resizer first when the dimensions exceed that limit. A phone with limited available memory may struggle even below the stated maximums.

Understand the local workflow

The website downloads its page and program code normally. After selection, image decoding and encoding run on your device. The compressor does not send the photograph to a conversion API or save an online photo history.

Local processing still uses your phone's memory and computing power. Large images can take longer, so keep the tab open while generating the result. There is no background account job that will deliver the file later if the browser closes.

Compare before saving

Choose an output format, adjust quality and select Compress image. Review the size comparison and image preview. When the output is larger or too degraded, change the settings or keep the original rather than saving an inferior copy.

A transparent source exported as JPEG receives a white background. Select WebP when you need to keep transparency and your destination supports it. Check the saved file with the application where you plan to use it.

Find and manage the download

Use Download image to save the result through your browser. The exact save location depends on your phone and browser settings. Reset clears the tool's active working state, but it does not remove files from your gallery or downloads folder. Keep the original until you have confirmed that the compressed copy is readable and suitable for sharing.
