Use Passport Photo Maker to crop a photo, adjust its position and download a JPG or print sheet while keeping the image processing in your browser.

Check the application requirements first

A passport-size photo is not simply a portrait with a smaller file size. The document you are applying for may specify physical dimensions, head placement, background, expression, image age and separate requirements for digital submissions. Read the issuing authority's current instructions before choosing a size or preparing the source picture.

ToolNivo provides cropping and export controls, not an official compliance assessment. Its presets describe dimensions rather than countries. A photo can have the correct width and height and still be unsuitable for an application. Keep the requirements beside you while preparing the image, and use a professional photo service if you cannot produce a suitable original.

Choose a clear source photo

Start with a photograph in which the face is sharp and there is enough space around the head and shoulders to adjust the crop. A tightly cropped source leaves little room to reposition the subject. If important parts of the head are already outside the image, a cropping tool cannot recover them.

Use a background that already meets the instructions for your application. This tool does not remove a room, replace a wall, retouch the face or correct uneven lighting. Transparent pixels become white on export, but ordinary background pixels stay in the picture. If the source is unsuitable, taking another photo is more useful than repeatedly changing the crop.

Upload the image and choose a size

Open Passport Photo Maker and select a JPG, PNG or WebP image. On a computer, you can also drag and drop the file into the selection area. The current limits are 20 MB and 20 megapixels. If an image cannot be opened, try a supported copy while keeping your original file.

Choose 35 × 45 mm, 2 × 2 inches or Custom size. For a custom export, enter the width and height in millimeters. The supported custom range is 20–70 mm wide and 20–90 mm high. Do not guess a preset from its name: compare its dimensions with the actual document instructions.

Position the face without stretching it

Use Zoom to enlarge the image within the crop. Drag the photo or use the horizontal and vertical sliders to adjust its position. The image keeps its proportions, while the selected frame determines what is included. Zooming further removes more of the surrounding photo; it does not add new detail.

The oval, center line and eye line can help you judge placement. They are approximate visual aids, not official head-size measurements or automatic face detection. If the required positioning differs from the guide, follow the authority's measurements. You can turn the guides off to review the unobstructed preview; they are excluded from both downloads.

Download and review your photo

Select Create photo & print sheet. Download photo JPG saves a single cropped picture, while Download print sheet PDF creates a 10 × 15 cm page containing copies. The information beside the editor shows the chosen physical size, output pixels and number of copies that fit.

Open the downloaded JPG before submitting it. Check sharpness, framing and the full image rather than relying only on a small preview. For a digital application, compare its file-format, pixel and file-size requirements separately. For paper copies, print the PDF at Actual size or 100% and measure a sample before cutting.

Frequently asked questions

Does an online passport photo maker guarantee acceptance? No. The tool prepares a crop and export. It does not verify every requirement, and the issuing authority makes the acceptance decision.

Is my photograph uploaded? The tool reads and processes the selected image in the browser. It downloads program files from the site but does not upload the photo for processing or save a server-side photo history.

Can it repair a blurry face? No. Enlargement cannot restore detail missing from the original. When the crop has too few pixels for the output, the tool displays a warning. Use a sharper source whenever possible.
