Open File to PDF

Convert a PNG screenshot or graphic to PDF and understand how white page backgrounds, scaling and image-based output affect the result.

Check the PNG before conversion

PNG is commonly used for screenshots, diagrams and graphics with transparency. When you convert a PNG to PDF, consider both the image itself and the page on which it will appear. A wide screenshot with tiny labels may become hard to read when fitted onto a single page.

Open the original at its actual resolution. Confirm that it includes the information you intend to share and remove unrelated areas in an image editor if necessary. Avoid repeatedly taking screenshots of screenshots: each additional capture can lose detail or include interface elements that were not part of the original.

Understand the white background

ToolNivo fits the selected image onto a white A4 page. Transparent areas are presented against white in this output. White lettering or pale icons that looked clear on a dark webpage may disappear visually once placed on a white page.

For example, a transparent logo designed for a dark banner may need a deliberate colored background before conversion. Prepare that version in an image editor, then convert it. Keep your transparent PNG master; the PDF is a separate delivery format and should not replace it.

Convert and check fine detail

Choose the PNG in File to PDF, select Convert to PDF and inspect the preview. Review diagram labels, thin rules and small numbers. The direct PDF output uses page images and image compression, so do not assume it is a lossless archival copy of the PNG.

If a screenshot is too tall, crop it into a clearer view or use an application that can print the original content across pages. ToolNivo's image workflow fits one image onto one page rather than intelligently dividing a screenshot into sections.

Choose output for the real task

Download PDF is suitable when a visual document is acceptable. Text inside a screenshot will not become selectable simply by using the print option: it is still an image. If you need accessible or searchable text, return to the original document or use an appropriate OCR and accessibility workflow. Reopen the PDF and check it before sharing.
