Convert a Markdown file to a PDF reference copy while recognizing that ToolNivo preserves Markdown syntax rather than rendering a styled article.

Know what happens to Markdown syntax

Markdown files contain ordinary text plus markers for headings, lists, links and other structures. ToolNivo's File to PDF treats an MD file as plain text. A heading beginning with a hash mark keeps that marker; it does not become a large styled heading in this workflow.

This behavior can be useful when teaching Markdown, reviewing source material or sharing the exact writing structure with a collaborator. It is not the right choice when you want a polished article with rendered tables, clickable links and embedded images.

Prepare the source for a reference PDF

Open the MD file in a text editor and check line breaks, indentation and encoding. Keep the editable source. If your document includes relative links or image paths, remember that these remain text: the converter does not fetch the referenced files or assemble a website.

A line containing an image reference will therefore appear as Markdown syntax rather than as a photograph. This also avoids silently requesting remote images during conversion. If the finished PDF needs those images, use a Markdown editor or publishing workflow that explicitly renders and exports them.

Convert and review long lines

Select the MD file in File to PDF and choose Convert to PDF. The tool wraps text across readable pages. Review long links and indented examples because wrapping can make the original source structure less obvious. Tabs are expanded to spaces rather than preserved as editor-specific tab stops.

Suppose your file demonstrates a list with several nested items. Verify that the indentation remains understandable in the preview and downloaded PDF. The PDF should help someone read the example, not force them to guess which line belongs to which level.

Decide between download and print

The direct download is an image-based copy. For copying source snippets, try the browser print option and verify that text can be selected in the saved PDF. Even then, line wrapping may affect copied text. Distribute the original MD file when exact reuse matters; use the PDF as a companion reference rather than the only source of editable material.
