A missing linked image or font can change a design unexpectedly. Recovery begins by identifying what the project needs, rather than exporting a broken layout and hoping it looks close enough.
Inspect the missing references
Open the application's missing-asset report where available. Search your project archive and download folder for the original files. Match dimensions and filenames carefully; a similarly named preview may be much smaller than the source.
Rebuild deliberately
If an asset cannot be recovered, use an appropriate replacement and review the composition again. A substituted font can alter line breaks, spacing, and emphasis. Do not treat it as a purely technical change.
Save a complete package
Once repaired, collect the source assets and record any substitutions. Export a new version and compare it with the intended design at small size. Keep the recovered project distinct from the original archive so future editors understand which parts were reconstructed and why.
