THREE SIMPLE STEPS

How to Download Tumblr Videos

Copy the URL of a public Tumblr post containing a native video.
Open the tool and paste the post URL into the link field.
Click Download, choose an available source, and select Download Video.

Use a post link, not a blog homepage or a Tumblr search page.

Download Tumblr Videos Online

A video in your own Tumblr archive can be useful outside the original post: for keeping a personal backup, reviewing a clip, or moving your work to another project. This Tumblr video downloader locates the MP4 source exposed on a public post and gives you a direct link to that media.

The tool accepts standard tumblr.com post URLs, username.tumblr.com/post/ links and supported tmblr.co short links. A public URL alone does not guarantee a download: the post must expose a supported Tumblr-hosted video.

How the Tumblr Video Downloader Works

ToolNivo’s server reads publicly accessible HTML and structured post data. It checks native video blocks and page metadata for Tumblr-hosted MP4 sources. It does not run scripts from the post or use the Tumblr API.

If the page offers multiple sources, the tool lists them with the quality information that Tumblr supplies. It cannot restore a deleted video, unlock a private post, or generate an HD version that is not available.

Does ToolNivo Store Tumblr Videos?

ToolNivo processes the Tumblr post URL only to locate available public media. Videos are not permanently stored on our servers. In this tool, video bytes travel directly from Tumblr to your browser, not through ToolNivo’s resolver.

The post URL is sent to ToolNivo for extraction. Opening a preview or download contacts Tumblr, which receives your network request. This is a server-assisted tool, not a browser-only converter.

Tumblr Video Downloader on Mobile

Copy the post link from Tumblr, switch to your browser and paste it into ToolNivo. On a small screen, the form and download controls stack vertically. You do not need to install an app.

A direct MP4 may open in a new browser tab instead of saving immediately. Use the player menu or your browser’s save/share option. ToolNivo does not proxy the video to force a download.

Tumblr Video Downloader FAQs

Is the Tumblr Video Downloader free?

Yes. ToolNivo does not charge to resolve a supported public Tumblr post. Request limits help keep the service available.

Do I need to install software?

No app or extension is needed. Open the tool in a current browser, paste a public post link, and select Download.

Can I download Tumblr videos on my phone?

You can use the tool on Android, iPhone and tablets. If the media opens in a player, use your browser’s save or share options. Available download controls depend on the browser.

Why can’t ToolNivo find a video?

The post may be deleted, private, login-restricted, blocked by Tumblr, or contain no supported native MP4. Tumblr can also change its page structure. Try the original public post link.

Does ToolNivo store downloaded Tumblr videos?

The resolver reads the public post page in memory. It does not download, proxy or store the video. The download link points to Tumblr’s media servers.

Can I download videos from private Tumblr posts?

No. This tool does not log into Tumblr or bypass private posts, age restrictions or access controls.

Does it support externally embedded videos?

No. YouTube, Vimeo and other externally hosted embeds are not supported. This tool resolves native Tumblr-hosted MP4 videos only.

Which quality will I get?

The tool lists the native MP4 links actually exposed by the public page. Dimensions are labelled as Tumblr metadata when provided, and are not independently verified or upscaled. No additional quality is invented.

Can I reuse the downloaded video?

Downloading does not transfer copyright. Save your own videos or videos you have permission to download and use.
