Create a PDF containing tall and wide images, understand automatic page orientation and check that each picture fits without unwanted stretching.

Separate image shape from reading direction

A portrait image is taller than it is wide, while a landscape image is wider than it is tall. That shape does not prove that its content is upright. A photograph of a sideways page can have landscape dimensions even though the writing should be read vertically.

Before selecting your files, open them and correct any sideways content using an image editor. Images to PDF chooses page orientation from image proportions; it does not recognize text direction or automatically rotate a document for reading.

Add both orientations to one list

Select the images you want to combine. A single document can contain portrait and landscape output pages, so you do not need separate exports merely because the images have different proportions.

Place each image in the intended sequence using drag-and-drop or the movement buttons. Preview a wide diagram and a tall photo to confirm that you have selected the correct source versions. Removing an unwanted item affects only the current working list.

Expect margins where proportions differ

The converter fits each picture within an A4 page and leaves a small margin. When the image ratio differs from the page ratio, additional white space can remain above, below or beside it. This is how the full image is retained without stretching or cropping.

A square image will not fill an entire rectangular page. If an edge-to-edge layout or custom paper size is essential, prepare the document in a page-layout application instead. This tool offers a simple one-image-per-page export.

Check screen and print appearance

After creating the PDF, open it and verify that wide pages use landscape orientation and the content remains upright. If you intend to print, review the printer's page-scaling and rotation settings separately. The PDF's page size does not force every printer to use the same physical paper or fitting options. Keep your source images until the result is suitable for its intended use.
