Combine screenshots into a PDF without overlooking text size, page order or image scaling. Learn which details to inspect in the exported pages.
Capture the information at a useful size
Screenshots often contain small labels, narrow columns or long conversations. Check whether the important text is readable before adding the images to a PDF. Avoid photographing a screen when a direct screenshot is available, since reflections and focus can make text harder to read.
Consider splitting a very long screenshot into logical sections with an image editor. An extremely tall image fitted onto a single page can make every line look tiny. Keep enough surrounding context to show what each section means.
Prepare a coherent set
Open Images to PDF and choose the screenshots in a supported format. PNG is accepted, but the export uses JPEG page images on a white background. It does not preserve the original PNG encoding or extract the words as text.
Arrange the items in reading order. When screenshots overlap, check that no essential lines are omitted between them. Remove redundant captures that make the document longer without adding information. Up to 20 images can be included in one export.
Understand the scaling limits
Each image fits inside an A4 page without stretching. Working images are reduced when their longest edge exceeds 2,400 pixels. A high-resolution screenshot containing very fine text may therefore lose useful detail after scaling and encoding.
The preview helps identify the source image, but the final test is the downloaded PDF. If a screenshot becomes unreadable at a practical zoom level, prepare smaller sections or export a text-based document from the original application when that option exists.
Review before sharing
Create and download the PDF, then inspect punctuation, numbers and small interface labels. Check that private notifications or unrelated tabs were not captured accidentally. The output is image-based, so recipients cannot select or search the photographed words. Keep the original screenshots until you have verified that the combined document is complete and readable.
