Common questions.
How do I convert a file to PDF for free?
Select a supported text, image or DOCX file and choose Convert to PDF. Review the document preview, then select Download PDF. There is no account, payment or API key required.
Are my files uploaded?
No. The conversion code runs in your browser. Your document is not uploaded to ToolNivo or a conversion service. Linked external images and online resources inside the document are blocked; embed images in Word before converting.
How are TXT, CSV, JSON and Markdown converted?
Text files become readable, wrapped pages. CSV, JSON and Markdown are displayed as plain text, not formatted tables, data reports or rendered Markdown. Arabic and other languages use fonts available on your device. Review the preview before downloading.
Can I convert a photo to PDF?
Yes. Choose a JPG, PNG, WebP or BMP image. It is fitted onto a white A4 page without stretching. This tool does not recognize text in photos or combine several images into one PDF.
Will the PDF look exactly like the Word document?
Not always. The browser is not Microsoft Word's layout engine. Missing fonts, complex tables, equations, charts and automatic page breaks can change the result. For documents that must match Word exactly, export to PDF from Word or LibreOffice.
Does this convert every file format?
No. Supported formats are DOCX, TXT, Markdown, CSV, JSON, LOG, JPG, JPEG, PNG, WebP and BMP. Older DOC, XLS/XLSX, PPT/PPTX, ZIP archives and video files are not supported. Save a compatible copy using the original application first. Password-protected documents are not supported.
Can I search or copy text from the downloaded PDF?
The direct download uses images of the rendered pages, so its text cannot be selected or searched and it is not an accessible tagged PDF. The Print / Save as PDF option can preserve selectable text, depending on your browser. Check its print preview before saving.
